Alex Luo

Alex Luo’s CCF Sydney Young Bird Derby Winner story

My name is Alex luo and I come from Shanghai of China. A city with a long history of racing pigeons.

I started raising pigeons when I was about eleven years old. The reason why I began to raise pigeons after I came to Australia is that I found a wounded pigeon on my way to work.

The pigeon was wounded after being attacked by a falcon. I treated her until she was well enough then let fly to sky …back to her home. This experience was an important factor in reactivating my breeding for racing pigeons again.

2012 was the first year of racing at the IHPS racing pigeon club in Sydney, Australia.Till 2013, I went back to Shanghai due to my parents’ health and other factors.During my three years in Shanghai, I have been following the racing pigeon competition in Sydney.

I returned to Sydney in 2016,My good friend Mr. Guo knows that I still have many racing pigeons foster in my friend’s place temporarily unable to set up a loft and participate in the competition. He built a new loft on Pitttown farm unconditionally and asked me to participate in the pigeon racing.

It gives me a chance to start pigeon racing again.

This year is the first time racing pigeons at Riverstone club since returning to Sydney, Australia. The competition of young bird derby is very important for every pigeon fancier. I take it as seriously as you do.

My loft is in the deep northwest area, Stay away from the city. But I know and have confidence in my racing pigeons.

In particular, the racing pigeon won the first place because she comes from a famous family. Her father is from Heremans Ceusters, Mother is from koopman. Very pretty. I call her Chinese girl.

Chinese girls have arrived at every different distance this year,And three times was the first pigeon in the my race group. In the 200 km race won the club second and the 400 km return home with a strong westerly wind.

Show up as a good bird for a tough race. 12/8/18 young bird derby there are 214 flyer and 1026 pigeon, My Chinese girl fly 484.98 kilometers in 4 hours and 17 minutes, I will never forget that moment when I witnessed her landing directly on the board from the direction of the blue mountain.

When I know I had won the first place in the competition. I couldn’t control my emotions. Tears were welling up in my eyes… Because It was the first time I won the first prize.

I got good grades because I got support and help from my friends. I haven’t driven since I got back to Sydney ,I go to the loft after work by bus or taxi .

My friends pick me up on weekends and Help me train pigeons。Without their help, I would not have won the first prize today. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my friends who are concerned and care about me. Thank you again!

PIGEON ROTAVIRUS
National Rota Virus Update

UPDATE 6TH AUGUST 2018
A review on the progress of the Rotavirus vaccine and the performance of the ANRPB.

Dr. Colin Walker

Fanciers will have noted that in the first half of 2017 I was keen to involve the ANRPB ( the Board ) in the diagnostics associated with
Rotavirus and then later the development of a Rotavirus vaccine. I thought it would be to the sports advantage to have a national body to represent it.
Since then my opinion has changed. I no longer support the Board – at least under the current system. I have attempted to disassociate myself from the Board and
do not wish to be connected with decisions that it has made. In my opinion, information has been either held back or misrepresented to the pigeon fanciers of Australia by
the Board. I feel that it is important that the fanciers of Australia understand the progress of events since mid-2017. READ MORE CLICK HERE…
